Confirmation (must be 15 years old) draws us more deeply into God's power and love that lives within each of us and the Church. Our preparation involves parent accompaniment Ascension Press's Chosen curriculum that meets each week in the basement of the JAC. from 4:00-5:00pm. There are three (3) options: Group 1 : Sept 3rd-Dec.10th Group 2: Jan 14th-April 28th Group 3: May 5th-July 28th Each group will include a parent and student informational session that is required. Visit our website and download the confirmation info packet for more information. Communications to students and parents. Communications in regard to the sacramental preparation will either come from here "Active Works" in email, or from "Flocknotes" as a text messagae or email. It is important to periodiocally check your junk folder. The preparation period will not exceed four months. Once your child has been prepped they are still expected to attend and participate in the life of the youth group. Once a year the Bishop comes to confirm and in special instances the Bishop may delegate the responsibility to our Pastor. Typically the Bishop assigns SVDP a Confirmation Mass in August. Youth Group registration by itself is NOT sufficient for Confirmation Preparation. You must register for both Youth Group AND Confirmation Preparation in order to be eligible to receive the Sacrament.Additionally, it is expected that students and parents attend each "Parent and Student Confirmation meeting.
