About This Activity
Join us for an exciting week-long introductory adventure of wilderness living! As we travel down the beautiful trails of Wilson Creek Wilderness Area, near Marion, NC, we will explore the rock outcroppings and trout-filled mountain streams, experience the clear mountain air and dappled sunshine, increase our backpacking and wilderness knowledge, and develop confidence and new friendships. The orientation and gear check meeting for this trip will be determined at a later date, but will be held during the week of July 1-5. This is an opportunity for campers to meet their instructors, each other, and to learn about the adventure they are about to take! Campers can bring their gear to get it checked and fitted and can ask any questions they may have. The van will leave Leigh Farm Park on the Monday morning of the trip and will return Friday. Arrival time on Friday will depend on when the group arrives at their final hiking location. Counselors will send an ETA when they leave after lunch.
