About This Activity
This half day camp will introduce students to sports medicine and the team of health care professionals that it takes to keep an athlete healthy. Students will learn about the professions of athletic training, strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports psychology, and more. Topics will include health/anatomy, first aid, taping and bracing, concussions, nutrition, modalities such as heat and ice, and recovery techniques such as foam rolling and NormaTec systems. Students will also have the opportunity to be certified in CPR. This is a great introduction to students considering health care professions. Camp tee shirt and all necessary materials will be provided.
