This winter we will work more on block design using a relatively new approach to Diversified Plain Weave. Diversified Plain Weave traditionally uses thick and thin yarns in the warp and weft to develop graphic patterns. We will mix it up a little by using multiple thin yarns to simulate the thick yarn in the warp, simplifying warping. With this approach we can get relatively sharp pattern differentiation using 6 blocks – all in a single layer of cloth. Students who have some prior weaving experiences are welcome in this class. Brand new weavers are encouraged to take the Weaving Introduction Workshop or Beginners Plus! Class. Supplies available include 8/2, 10/2, 20/2 and some 8/4 cotton and are included in the registration fee.
