In this engaging and hands-on workshop, students will explore the art of mono-printing using a Gelli plate—a fun and versatile tool that allows for the creation of richly layered, one-of-a-kind prints. Through the use of various media, textures, and tools, students will learn techniques for building depth, pattern, and color on paper. Participants will experiment with layering paints, stencils, found objects, and mark- making tools to create dynamic abstract compositions. The resulting printed papers can be used in a variety of creative ways—such as in collage, journaling, card-making, or as stand-alone works of art suitable for framing. By the end of the session, each student will leave with a collection of unique prints to add to their personal art portfolio, along with the skills and inspiration to continue exploring this accessible and expressive printmaking technique.
