This twice-a-week class is designed for high school diploma students who need a Civics credit. Students will explore the creation of American democracy, the three branches of government, and the system of checks and balances established by the Founders. The course also covers the rights and responsibilities of citizens, as well as state and local government structures. By the end of the class, students will understand how their government works and how they can participate as informed, responsible citizens. Academic students only.
