The Avantor Program at IMSA This uniquely IMSA program combines two weeks of online learning followed by one week of engaging, hands-on learning on campus in Aurora, and explores the interesting world of Biotechnology. The Avantor Program at IMSA is for students whose backgrounds include populations that have historically been underrepresented in STEM. Students who are female, Latinx/Hispanic, Black, from a rural area, or who have financial challenges qualify as underrepresented and are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will also be entering 9th grade in the fall of 2024, be age 13 by September 1st, 2024, and will have completed 1 year of Pre-Algebra by July 1st, 2024. The application process is competitive and includes an application form, a brief essay and a science teacher recommendation. Please be prepared to enter the following information: Teacher name, email address, phone number, and school name. Accepted students must be able to complete the online portion of the program which will run June 17 - 28 and be able to attend the on-campus, residential portion of the program in its entirety from the evening of July 7 - July 12, 2024. Student participation costs for the entire program will be completely covered through the generosity of the Avantor Foundation, but students will be asked to pay a $50 registration fee upon acceptance to confirm their attendance.
