This camp has changed its focus due to the teacher change. Students will explore the natural world and create projects that reflect their creative expression of God's creation. Each day, students will focus on a subject: sky, ocean, garden and forest. Art projects will be based on watercolors, chalk pastels, collage and symmetrical designs in nature. Students will have 2 projects available each day of camp, one planned lesson and one creative project of their choice including an independent sculpture table with quick dry clay and playdough available for clay projects. During our outside times, we will collect natural materials to include in our artwork. On the last day, students will take home a collection of their work. I am excited to teach the art camps at Regents this summer! Come join us for a joyful and creative week together! A little about the teacher: Susan Varghese brings twenty years of experience in Early Childhood Education, as a classroom teacher, early childhood administrator and former curriculum trainer. She has taught in Christian private schools throughout Austin. Susan studied Child Development at Texas State University and she is a state certified Early Childhood Director. Prior to returning to the classroom, Susan launched a preschool from the ground up, hiring an exceptional team of educators, training in curriculum components and building a Christ-centered program primarily focused on collaborative learning. She is currently on staff at Regents as a Kindergarten Enrichment teacher. Her passion is to bring innovation, creativity and wonder into the lives of young students as they develop a love for learning.
