Description
This program teaches candidates the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatics emergencies. Successful candidates will receive Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR/AED certifications valid for 2 years. The Red Cross Lifeguard Program is a blended learning format with approximately 7 hours of online materials completed prior to attending the in-person sessions. The Deadline to register for this class is Wednesday, May 20th, 2026.
Prerequisites to course entry:
1. At least 15 years of age prior to the last scheduled class date.
2. Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest.- Jump into deep water and fully submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using breaststroke, freestyle, or a combination of the two. Goggles are allowed.
- Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes treading water using only the legs.
- Swim 50 yards using freestyle, breaststroke or a combination of both.
In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather, equipment failure or unforeseen circumstances, registrants will be notified via email.
