About This Activity
Beginner Percussion Camp is for students who are interested in learning how to play percussion! During this week students will learn about each instrument in the percussion family and learn the proper techniques needed to play correctly. Campers will learn to read percussion music, develop their counting and subdividing skills, and rehearse together with other campers in an ensemble setting. Instruments to be covered include snare drum, marimba, timpani, hand drums, drumset, vibraphone, and all auxiliary percussion. At the end of the week, students will showcase their newfound skills for family and friends on the Friday concert! No previous experience is necessary.
