About This Activity
Students will gain flexibility, strength, self-confidence, balance, and coordination while boosting their memory skills and increasing their exercise. They will learn a variety of dance styles which include Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, and Contemporary. Dances will build upon basic skills and focus on technique while growing as dancers and performers. The summer camp will conclude with a fun performance for friends and family! Megan Wright began studying dance at the age of six in Austin, TX. She has studied a variety of dance including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Salsa and Ballroom. She began teaching at the age of nineteen at Alisa’s Dance Academy where she taught for almost a decade. She also taught at Footworks Dance Studio, West Austin Dance, Tarrytown Dance, Head to Toe, Rhythmic Motion and Balance Dance Studio. She danced professionally with Verge Dance Co, Footworks Dance Co and DAO Dance Co. Megan also studied and taught cheerleading. She was the captain of her high school cheer squad and was also on a competition squad. She has been working with children and youth, whether in childcare or teaching, for over 28 years. She lives in Dripping Springs, TX with her daughter Sophia. Megan is excited to help guide young dancers in exploring and growing their gifts both as a dancer and a child of God.
