Thursday, 5:30 - 7:30 PM • 1 week MDI High School Instructor: Adriaan Gerber Learn the basics of blacksmithing while creating a handcrafted forging fork. Students will explore essential techniques such as tapering, shaping, and splitting steel to form the tines of the fork. This beginner-friendly class provides a fun and practical introduction to the craft of blacksmithing. What to Wear: This class will be held outdoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather and the nature of the work. Closed-toe shoes, non-synthetic clothing, and safety glasses are required. Gloves and hearing protection are optional. About the Instructor: Adriaan is a blacksmith with nearly 20 years of experience. He has taught blacksmithing and traditional craft skills at living history museums throughout the Northeast, including New York, as well as at primitive skills schools and gatherings.
