About This Activity
This program is a fantastic stepping stone for 1st graders to introduce them to performing in a full production in an age-appropriate way! -1st graders will attend their very own rehearsal once per week: Mondays 5:00 - 5:55. Rehearsal Dates: September 28, October 5, no rehearsal Oct 12, October 19, 26, November 2, 9, 16, no rehearsal November 23, November 30, December 7, and 14. No rehearsal December 21 or 28. -Each student in First Grade Foundations will attend ONE tech rehearsal and will perform in ONE performance of Madagascar Kids (in 3 musical numbers) the weekend of January 9-10. -Each student’s specific tech rehearsal date and performance date will be finalized by the end of September. Please reserve January 5-10 for Madagascar until you receive your child’s specific dates. -Students will learn the vocals and choreography to 3 ensemble songs. -In addition to learning the musical numbers, students will learn the basics of performing in a production: how to audition, how rehearsals work, what tracking numbers are, stage directions, entrances and exits, scene work and blocking, and becoming a character. -Tuition: $380 -Students provide their own costume – families will receive specific links of what to purchase at least one and a half months before the production. Costumes are theirs to keep, and will cost less than $50.
