About This Activity
This program is a fantastic stepping stone for 1st graders to introduce them to performing in a full production in an age-appropriate way! -1st graders will attend their very own rehearsal once per week: Mondays 5:00 - 6:00. Rehearsal Dates: September 8, 15, 22, 29, October 6, 13, 20, 27, November 3, 10, and 17. -Each student in First Grade Foundations will attend ONE tech rehearsal and will perform in ONE performance of Shrek Kids (in 3 musical numbers) the weekend of November November 24 - December 7 -Each student’s specific tech rehearsal date and performance date will be finalized by the end of September. Please reserve November 24, 25, and Dec 1-7 for Shrek until you receive your child’s specific dates. -Students will learn the vocals and choreography to 3 ensemble songs. -In addition to learning the musical numbers, students will learn the basics of performing in a production: how to audition, how rehearsals work, what tracking numbers are, stage directions, entrances and exits, scene work and blocking, and becoming a character. -Tuition: $319 -Students provide their own costume – families will receive specific links of what to purchase at least one and a half months before the production. Costumes are theirs to keep, and will cost less than $50.
