About This Activity
In this class, students will develop a strong foundation in portrait drawing, learn how to construct the human head from different angles, accurately draw individual facial features, create convincing light and shadow, and maintain a likeness of the subject. Over the 6 weeks, students will build on their techniques and work towards a final project: a mixed-media portrait exploring likeness and identity, as well as personal art style. From curious beginners to experienced illustrators, all are welcome! Differentiated support is provided to meet each student’s interests, needs, learning styles and strengths.
