Dates: Jan 20- Mar 10, 2026 Tuesdays, 4-6 PM During this 8-week winter session, the class will focus on contemporary methods and techniques in drawing. Teens will learn how different materials and methods can create different textures, surfaces, and effects in drawing. We will investigate and push the idea of what a drawing is by using methods including erasure, layering, unconventional materials, and 3D drawing, to name a few. Participants will experiment with different ways of creating abstract or non-representational drawings. All levels are welcome. Differentiated instruction is provided to meet each student’s interests, needs, and strengths. This winter class is the second part of a year-long, three-part drawing curriculum where participants learn the basics of drawing as a method to observe, design, and think about the world around them. By the end of the year, students should have a strong arsenal of drawing tricks and techniques in their pockets and an expanded idea of the possibilities and types of drawing that exist in the world today
