About This Activity

Cooperative and Acceptable Loose Leash Tips and Tricks Tuesdays, Jan 20 & Jan 27 7:30-8:15 Does your dog walk calmly at the end of a relaxed leash? A loose leash is the result of clear and consistent communication. Come learn the skills to show your dog how to match your pace and direction as you navigate the world together as a team. Developing a routine where you both are cooperative to the needs of each other will limit many struggles during the walk and will allow a simple and rhythmic conversation using the leash as a tool. Please bring poop bags, a flat buckle or martingale collar, or harness. Water dishes will need a towel under them and the owner is responsible for all puddles, water or waste. Bring plenty of treats, more than you expect is the correct amount. High value treats such as deli turkey and cheese work best. Dogs will be at least one year old at the beginning of class and will need to provide age appropriate vaccinations and town license to the instructor before attending. Please be mindful of the owner and dog's health when attending. Dogs and owners must be comfortable working in a group setting and around other animals. Owners should wear sneakers or comfortable footwear for movement. This class doesn’t address aggression or other anti-social behaviors in dogs.
