This class helps dogs one year and older learn essential manners and build lifelong good habits using positive, reward-based training. In a fun, supportive setting, dogs practice basic skills such as sit, down, stay, come, polite leash walking, calm greetings, impulse control, and focus around distractions. The class strengthens the bond between dog and owner, builds confidence, and provides a solid foundation for future training, including preparation for the Canine Good Citizen test. Homework and consistent practice are required, with guidance and tools provided by the instructor. Please bring poop bags, a flat buckle or martingale collar, or harness. A New Trix head halter is acceptable with prior discussion with the instructor. Water dishes will need a towel under them and the owner is responsible for all puddles, water or waste. Bring plenty of treats, more than you expect is the correct amount. High value treats such as deli turkey and cheese work best. Dogs will be at least one year old at the beginning of class and will need to provide age appropriate vaccinations and town license to the instructor before attending. 4weeks.
