About This Activity
This program is intended for players in 2nd & 3rd grade, who have previously played in BPV's Coach Pitch division, which translates to players with birth dates from 9/16/2014 to 9/15/2016.
Advanced/veteran Coach Pitch players ready for a new challenge can request to play up in this division, too.
In this division, kids pitch to hitters with restrictions. A mixture of rules are used from the Coach Pitch and Minors Divisions to prepare players for the next level. Games run six innings, with teams playing typically twice per week. At the discretion of the teams and field availability, practice time is available all week in April before games late April/early May, and normally on the weekends once games start.
Pending issues with inclement weather, the program is scheduled to finish before the July 4 holiday. The season ends with a postseason tournament and all-star game.
Field used: Primarily Tyler Hurd Field at Scheck Park. Also used: LeClaire's Veterans Memorial Complex. (Other fields used occasionally as needed). Bases are 60 feet apart. Pitching mound distance is 42 feet.
Teams grouped by school or special request. LeClaire-only teams are a registration option on a first-come, first-serve basis.
