Get ready for a fun and action-packed Flag Football season at Crow Creek Park! Players will learn the game, build teamwork, and compete in an exciting atmosphere all season long, with the first 3 weeks focused on practices and the final 5 weeks featuring games.
Practices: Tuesdays/Thursdays, August 11th - 27th
Games: Tuesdays/Thursdays, September 1st - October 1st
Practice and Game Times: 5:15pm and 6:15pm, depending on number of teams and players registered. Times and teams are subject to change based on participant enrollment size. There will be two 20-minute halves with one 5-minute halftime break. Each team will play 1 game per night, giving each team 2 games per week. Teams will be scheduled for a 10-game season. Rainouts will only be made up at the end of the season when feasible. Score/standings will not be kept in the 6/7 year-old division.
Players must provide their own mouth guard to participate
Program Jersey: A Bettendorf Parks & Rec jersey is required and may be added to your cart during registration or purchased in person at the Bettendorf Community Center M-F 8:30am-5:30pm. Cost is $25. Jerseys purchased during registration will be given to coaches and handed out at the first practice.
Team Formations: Our recreation staff place participants on teams based on their school. TEAM/COACH REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. It is very important that your correct school is listed during registration. Teams will consist of 10 players, and games will be played as a 7-on-7 league.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! Be a part of your child's fun by coaching their team to victory!
We understand parents are busy, so we try our best to make volunteer coaching easy and convenient!
Simply review the details of Head Coach and Assistant Coach and then indicate during registration if you would like to take on one of those roles this season! A coaches meeting will be held on August 3rd at 5:00pm at the Bettendorf Community Center where you will go over details about the league, hand out all your coaching materials, and answer any questions. Head Coach Details
1. Knowledge of the game recommended but not required.
2. Coaches will receive:
- Equipment bag with footballs, cones, pinnies and flags
- Coaching materials - team roster with contact info, rules, general coaching guidelines and expectations, weather hotline information, picture day schedule, website for game schedules
- Materials to hand out to each member of your team - picture day order packets, weather hotline information, website for game schedules
- Practice drill ideas available upon request
Assistant Coach Details
1. Knowledge of game is helpful but not required
2. Ways you can help your head coach:
- Act as an extra set of hands at practices, games, and on picture day
- Player/parent team communication
- Help keep players organized and focused during practices and games
- Manage parent-donated game snack and drink schedule (optional)
*Additional registrations will be accepted depending on team availability. As more players are added to the waitlist, league staff will be in touch if there are enough players on the waitlist to create additional teams. If the league is shown as full, please add your name to the waitlist for the best chance to play.
