About This Activity
Connect and create at the Arts Council studio now at Morningstar Learning Center! Explore the art of glass fusion in our Afterschool Youth Fused Glass Plant Stake Workshop taught by Kayelynn Hess. Participants will create a garden plant stake made entirely of glass with basic cutting and layering techniques. We will also learn about glass safety, different types of firings, and glass compatibility. All materials and tools are provided, and no prior experience is required. Pieces will require firing in a kiln and will be available for pick up once finished. The class is held at Morningstar Learning Center at the new Arts Council Studio. Students can take the bus from Ophir and get dropped off at Morningstar. End of the day pick-up is at Morningstar. Students not riding the bus can also be dropped directly at the classroom at 4 p.m. Any class payments above the suggested class fee (Take a Class/Give a Class, Help a Neighbor, Sponsor Materials) are tax deductible and will be acknowledged via email for tax purposes.
