About This Activity
Creature Studio is a unique no-sew workshop taught by Amy Gitchell where kids ages 8-12 create their own stuffed creatures and transform them into eye-catching wall art. In this two-hour parent drop-off class, students select patterned fabrics, stuff their creatures using simple techniques, and bring them to life with felt details, ribbons, pom- poms, and colorful embellishments. They'll also decorate their canvas backgrounds before mounting their creatures to create dimensional artwork—completely original and ready to hang. This no-sew approach allows every student to complete their project during class without the time and supervision that sewing requires. Every student takes home a finished piece they'll be excited to display. Any class payments above the suggested class fee (Take a Class/Give a Class, Help a Neighbor, Sponsor Materials) are tax deductible and will be acknowledged via email for tax purposes.
