Join us this fall for a fun and inclusive basketball league. This recreational league will teach your child the fundamentals of basketball while also reinforcing off-court values such as teamwork, cooperation, good sportsmanship, and the YMCA core values of respect, responsibility, caring, honesty and inclusion!
Players will receive a branded jersey with reversible logo, a YMCA water bottle and cinch sack.
Logistics: This is an Intra-YMCA league, Teams will practice at the Birmingham YMCA. Games will take place on Saturday and will rotate each week between the Macomb YMCA, Boll YMCA, Farmington YMCA and the South Oakland YMCA.
The schedule is as follows…Wednesday, September 25th: Final rosters and schedules will be published Monday, October 7th: First week of practices (days will vary per team)Practice Location: Birmingham YMCASaturday, October 19th: First GameGames will rotate each Saturday between the Macomb YMCA, Boll Family YMCA, Farmington YMCA and the South Oakland YMCA.November 25th - 30th: No practice or games Thanksgiving weekDecember 7th: “All Star Court” Final Games will be played at the Boll Family YMCA in Downtown Detroit*This League focuses on skill building and team cooperation, all players will recive a medal and a high-five and no official stats will be kept*
Volunteers Needed! This league is not possible without volunteer coaches, CLICK HERE for more information. Training will be provided. All coaches will receive a coach shirt, coaching handbook with practice plans, and supply bag.
Join us at the Parent Meeting prior to the start of the season! Here you will meet your coach and be able to ask questions about the league! Parent Meetings will be prior to the first practice
