Drawing Skills: Grades 6 - 8 Instructor: Anne RitchieIn this engaging 10-week drawing skills class, students will explore a wide variety of drawing techniques and styles. Each week introduces new concepts such as shading, perspective, proportion, texture, still life, nature and character design. Students will experiment with graphite, colored pencil, charcoal, ink and mixed media while learning to use line, value, shape and composition to bring ideas to life. Through interactive demonstrations, creative challenges, sketchbook activities and personal projects, students will strengthen their observational skills, and artistic voice in a fun environment. By the end of the course, students will have developed stronger technical drawing skills, a collection of original artwork and appreciation of creative expression.
