About This Activity

Description

Hill House AAA Baseball is a player-pitch league for all levels of players. With an introduction to pitching fundamentals, proper hitting mechanics, and continuing to build on team defensive philosophies - every level of player will be challenged and prepared for our exciting Majors program.
Schedule/Locations:
  • When: Monday (Optional) Pitching and Batting Clinics from 4:00pm-5:30pm, Wednesdays from 5:15pm-6:15pm & Saturdays from 9:00am-11:00am
  • Where: Teddy Ebersol Fields & Boston Common (Only the beginning of the season)
  • Location Breakdown:
    • Boston Common Athletic Fields: 4/3, 4/6, 4/10, 4/13
    • Teddy Ebersol Fields: 4/17 - 6/8
  • Important Dates:
    • First Day of Class: 4/3
    • Last Day of Class: 6/8

Season Structure:
  • Co-ed teams are created and led by Hill House baseball staff and volunteers.
  • The season will consist of a regular season schedule of games, and finish with a playoff tournament to find our AAA champions!
  • As long as the weather permits, our last session will be a fun all-star style celebration where we come together as a league again and play outside our season long teams.

Important Notes:
  • Families are expected to have a guardian or caretaker remain on-site.
  • If families need to leave then they MUST CHECK-IN with Hill House Staff when dropping off, and SIGN-OUT when picking up.
  • Cancelled practices will not be made-up. Practices/clinics may be cancelled in favor of rescheduled games.
  • We are unfortunately unable to provide individual make-up classes if the participant is absent.
  • An administrative fee ($20) will be applied for excessive withdrawal requests after the start of the season.
  • By registering for this program, all Hill House families have checked off an acknowledgement upon enrolling and are thus expected to abide by our Code of Conduct—treating our staff, volunteers, and other families with respect. Violations will be reported, and multiple violations may result in action, including removal from programs.

Equipment Notes:
  • Gloves are required for AAA Baseball
  • Jerseys and hats will be provided.
    • once distributed, please do your best to wear them to every game.
  • Personal equipment (bats, etc.) are welcome!
  • I have attached an equipment recommendation document below. This equipment isn’t required for this age group, but I wanted to steer you in the right direction if you were looking for baseball gear.
  • All other needed equipment or materials will be provided by Hill House.

Cancellation & Make-up Class Policy:
  • Should a session ever be cancelled, you will be notified via email and text.
  • If our playoffs are disrupted by rain, we will cancel our all-star celebration session and reschedule our playoffs then.
  • The status of programs will always be confirmed on our Updates Page, and any changed dates for the program can be monitored by checking our Spring Athletics Calendar.
  • If games are cancelled due to inclement weather or the instructor being unavailable, we will do our best to reschedule them, but we will not extend the season unless absolutely necessary.
  • Please note: make-up classes will only be offered for cancelled sessions and not for any absences/personal conflicts/voluntarily skipped weeks during the season.

Notes on Awards:Like all Hill House programs this league puts fun first, but it is still competitive. We believe this format helps invest and excite players, while also teaching them what it means to be part of a team. As a result this league does not feature participation trophies, and instead rewards the league champion team and a few individual players across the league with trophies. We use these trophies to celebrate achievement, but more importantly to inspire all the players in the league to keep practicing and working towards the fun goals their peers have reached. We highlight players with great work ethic, sportsmanship, and commitment to improve, because we want to motivate all our players to model those traits and become the best they can be.
