About This Activity

Description

Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.

The Junior League gives co-ed players the opportunity to play basketball in a supportive environment that emphasizes fun, sportsmanship and skill building. Players will be placed onto teams and participate in clinics before breaking into league games each week.
Season Structure:
  • Co-ed teams are created and led by Hill House staff and volunteers.
  • Every player will be assigned to a team and receive a jersey.
  • The season will consist of a regular season schedule of games before ending with a competitive tournament to find our champion!
  • As long as the weather permits, our last session will be a fun all-star style celebration where we come together as a league again and play outside our season long teams.

Notes on Awards:Like all Hill House programs this league puts fun first, but it is still competitive. We believe this format helps invest and excite players, while also teaching them what it means to be part of a team. As a result this league does not feature participation trophies, and instead rewards the league champion team and a few individual players across the league with trophies. We use these trophies to celebrate achievement, but more importantly to inspire all the players in the league to keep practicing and working towards the fun goals their peers have reached. We highlight players with great work ethic, sportsmanship, and commitment to improve, because we want to motivate all our players to model those traits and become the best they can be.
Please read the notes at the bottom of this page carefully, and email jking@hillhouseboston.org if you have any questions before the season starts, or if you register less than a week before the program begins.
Equipment needed for this program: Players should all be dressed in athletic wear and basketball-appropriate sneakers. • All needed equipment or materials will be provided by Hill House.
Important guidelines and notes for this season: Families are expected to have a guardian or caretaker remain on-site.• If families need to leave then they MUST CHECK-IN with Hill House Staff when dropping off, and CHECK-OUT when picking up.• We are unfortunately unable to provide individual make-up classes if the participant is absent. • An administrative fee ($20) may be applied for withdrawal requests after the start of the season.• All Hill House families are expected to abide by our Code of Conduct—treating our staff, volunteers, and other families with respect. Violations will be reported, and multiple violations may result in action, including removal from programs.
