About This Activity
Through hands-on activities, animal encounters, zoo tours, nature walks, and discussions, Jr. Conservationists will learn all about conservation at Zoo New England. Each session will focus on our approach to inspiring our guests to become conservationists, how we take care of our animals here at Franklin Park Zoo, and how we advocate for wildlife conservation in and around Boston and all over the world! Both natural eco-systems and Zoo habitats rely heavily on plants to be healthy places for animals to thrive! In this session we will get a closer look both at what goes into zoo habitat design, how Zoo New England supports local eco-systems outside of the zoo, and a day in the life of a zoo horticulturalist! Please note, this standalone session is in-person and held on-site at the zoo. Parent/guardian attendance is not permitted. Participants should come with warm clothing and rain jacket and be prepared to spend some time outdoors.
