Important information below, please review carefully before completing your registration. Program fees are non-refundable once the camp begins. There are no make-up rides or refunds for missed days, cancellations due to weather, or athlete not wanting to participate in camp. Enrollment may be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the start of the camp with a partial refund (program fee minus $75). In the event of a camp cancellation due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 athletes) a full refund will be issued. Athletes are dropped off and picked up at the SMBA office and ride in vans, or ride from the office to a different ride location each day. Athletes should have previously participated in a mountain camp, and/or have basic bike handling skills (pedaling, braking, shifting, standing up on pedals) and be comfortable riding on beginner trails with easy climbs and descents at the start of this camp. Athletes can expect a full day of riding each day of camp. Athletes must carry their lunch, water, a tube, sunscreen, and tissue paper for the duration of the ride. The group will stop for snacks and lunch along the trail during the day. Athletes should be prepared for a full day of riding and being outside in hot, summer weather. Athletes must ride with the group and coaches for the duration of each ride; and must be prepared to listen and follow coaches' instructions each day. Athletes must have a bike with at 24" minimum wheel size, front and rear handbrakes, and gears (with working shifters and derailleur). Due to the length of the ride, varying terrain, and safety reasons, coaster brakes are not allowed. We strongly discourage singlespeed bikes.
