Important information below, please review carefully before completing your registration. Athletes are dropped off and picked up at the SMBA office and ride in vans to their ride location each day. This camp is geared towards athletes who have basic mountain bike handling skills (balancing, braking, pedaling, shifting) and are comfortable riding on beginner trails with easy climbs and descents; and may have participated in a mountain bike camp in the previous year, Athletes will be riding beginner to low-intermediate (green/blue rated trails) during camp). Athletes must carry their lunch, water, a tube, sunscreen, and tissue paper for the duration of the ride. The group will stop for snacks and lunch along the trail during the day. Athletes should be prepared for a full day of riding and being outside in hot, summer weather. Athletes must ride with the group and coaches for the duration of each ride; and must be prepared to listen and follow coaches' instructions each day. Athletes must have a bike with at 24" minimum wheel size, front and rear handbrakes, and gears (with working shifters and derailleur). Due to the length of the ride, varying terrain, and safety reasons, coaster brakes are not allowed. We strongly discourage singlespeed bikes for our camp athletes.
