About This Activity
In addition to teaching the history and tradition of jazz music, this enrichment class will teach the basic mechanics of how to play jazz, including rhythm, melody, harmony, and improvisation. Open to any instrument at any level. The instructor, Eddie, graduated from the University of Colorado Jazz Studies program. During his time there, he played extensively, both in school and professionally, with some of Colorado’s best musicians; these include Brad Goode, John Gunther, Victor Mestas, the amazing Paa Kow, and countless more. He works now as a professional musician, playing many different genres live and teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Though Eddie loves all music, he considers jazz to be both his area of expertise and his passion. There will be performances on 11/7 and 11/8.
