About This Activity

Note: STEM Mash-Ups consist of morning and afternoon segments that cover two different topics, creating a well-rounded day. Two sessions of this combination are offered simultaneously, with the morning and afternoon content flipped. Sessions are otherwise identical. If your child is interested in taking a camp with a sibling or friend, please register them in the same session. You will select your preferred session once you reach the Active Network registration platform. Junior Einsteins Have you ever wondered why a thrown ball moves in a curved path? Why you can hear but not see around corners? Why magnets stick to a refrigerator? In this camp we will explore the world around us through the eyes of Physics. Get your hands and your imaginations ready, as we answer these and other questions, by playing with wooden cars, spinning tops, slinkies, balloons, colored lights, and so much more. Amazing Human Body Humans begin as a single cell and over the course of their lifespan, grow into a being with more than 37 trillion cells capable of accomplishing so many astonishing things! Join this week-long, in-depth journey into the body, investigating the ways the body adapts to its environment and grows to not only survive, but thrive. We’ll test the senses and see how experiences shape the body as well as the mind. Learn about the support of the skeleton and the strength of its muscles through various experiments and physical activities as we discover how blood flows through our heart and keeps our bodies moving. We'll explore nutrition and learn how the foods we choose affect our overall health and help our bodies fight off disease, keeping us healthy. If you want to take an exciting, hands-on approach to learning about the wonders of the human body, this camp is for you! Food Contact Note: Campers will come in contact with chicken wings and may have the opportunity to ingest antioxidant fruit water.
