Instructor: Murlin Green & Derek Maki Grades 8-11 Have you ever wondered what it’s like to restore power to people after a storm? During this three-day camp, students will learn what it is like to climb power poles, use various tools that a lineworker uses on a daily basis, learn the gear and clothes that are required in this field, fly a drone simulator, and visit lineworkers in action! Students will learn the ins and outs of the electric utility industry and how power gets to our homes and businesses. Students will need boots for days they climb (tennis shoes will not work). Safety is foremost in this industry and you will hear and see that throughout the camp. Hard hats and safety glasses will be provided. A pair of sturdy work boots with a heel along with gloves and a long sleeve shirt for climbing are required.
