About This Activity
Animation with Ms. Jaiden ATTENTION FUTURE ANIMATORS! Are you ready to unlock your creative potential and bring your own characters to life? Join us to create your own animations. In this course, you will learn and implement the basics of 2-D animation through hands on projects and articles. Students are required to have either a laptop or an Apple IPad. For laptop users, students get a discount on the required animation program “Toon Boom Harmony-advanced” for $10.50 a month and are required to have a drawing tablet (‘Wacom Intuos’ is preferred). Further instructions will be provided upon registration. For those using an Apple IPad, they are required to have the app “procreate” (NOT procreate dreams) which is a one time fee of $13. Whilst not required, it is recommended that students take the comic book course beforehand since students are taught how to design characters in the class. Jaiden Pickard graduated from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Animation in 2023 and Hillsborough Community College with an Associate’s degree in Art in 2021. During her time at UT, she interned at Pencil Gator Studios where she helped develop two scenes for a pilot episode for “Chorus to Dero”. She is an animator, character designer and comic book artist. She is currently working on her own comic book series in her free time.
