About This Activity
Animation Meme Workshop with Jaiden Pickard Animation Memes are small animations used to tell small parts of stories put to music that have been popular since the later 2000s. In this workshop, students will be making their own animation memes! That means learning to storyboard animations, make their own animations, and render a fully made animation meme! This course requires that the student has had a previous animation course/has prior experience with animation. Students are also required to have either a laptop with the animation program ‘Toon Boom Harmony: advanced’ OR an Apple Ipad with the app ‘procreate’ (around $12) (not ‘procreate dreams’). Other Laptop requirements: Students get a discount for ‘Toon Boom Harmony: advanced’ industry-standard animation program of only $11 per month. Instructions on how to do so will be provided upon registration. Students that are using a laptop are also required to have a drawing tablet. One that is recommended is the ‘Wacom Intuos’ drawing tablet. Additionally, Students using laptops are not required to get an editing app but a recommended one is ‘Adobe: premiere’, which also has a student discount. Other iPad requirements: Students that are using an IPad will have to also get the editing app “Splice” (free).
