Elementary Piano and General Music 1 12:45-1:30pm OR 1:45-2:30 PM Description: For students ages 6-11. This class will be jam-packed with piano playing, activities, and game-based learning. Students will gain an understanding of the keyboard, learn to read rhythmic notation, learn the music alphabet, identify notes on the treble and bass staves, and explore dynamics and time signatures. Supplies needed include a 1/2-inch binder with 3 dividers, pencils, crayons, safety scissors, and Wunderkeys Primer Piano Book 1. I've ALWAYS loved music and playing the piano. I attended Belmont University in Nashville, TN to study Piano Pedagogy before transferring to the University of Florida where I earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Elementary Education. My philosophy about piano lessons is that they should be FUN. I strive to keep the atmosphere relaxed and encouraging. Students are rewarded for their personal achievement and encouraged to develop positive practice habits that will lead to a well-rounded music education.
