The Middle School Math course covers the following topics: review of the basic operations with whole numbers, review of all decimal arithmetic, introduction to ratios and percent, prime factorization, greatest common factor, least common multiple, review of fraction arithmetic, plus a focus on multiplication and division of fractions, and beginning algebra topics such as expressions, equations, and inequalities. Students need to have a solid grasp of the 4 operations prior to taking Middle School Math. I have been homeschooling my 5 children for 21 years (3 graduates!). Before kids, I started my teaching career as a Spanish teacher in public school and as I moved into my role as a homeschool mom, somewhere along the way I added teaching Math and English as a Second Language classes. I have taught all levels of math through Algebra II and all levels of Spanish through AP Spanish and Dual Enrollment in community college.
