About This Activity

Wilderness Leadership Camp: Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Through Adventure Wilderness Leadership campers embark on immersive, nature-based skill training, tackling inspiring challenges, and enjoying outrageously fun activities—all under the guidance of seasoned instructors. Leadership Overnight Camp offers transformative 1- to 7-week sessions for youth aged 13-15, designed for teens ready to step out of their comfort zones, meet new people, and uncover their own potential to lead and inspire. This program builds confidence, fosters friendships, and develops essential outdoor and leadership skills—providing some of the most positive and formative experiences of a young person’s life. Learn, Lead, and Thrive Leadership campers develop critical skills like communication, conflict mediation, and teamwork. They help plan and facilitate group activities, gaining firsthand experience in leading peers. But it’s not all work—there’s plenty of time to relax and play! Leadership campers can: • Splash in the pool or wakesurf for a day on the lake. • Practice riflery and aim for a bullseye. • Create pottery, firing it in an ancient-style kiln. • Dance, experiment with ancient weaponry, and track animals. • Harvest and cook wild foods. • Participate in paddling, swimming, or hiking adventures with lead staff. • And so much more! This program provides a safe environment where teens can put their skills to the test, developing life lessons they’ll carry far beyond the camp experience. Sleep Under the Stars Campers have a variety of options for their overnight experience. Traditional Adirondack shelters offer comfort and camaraderie, while adventurous campers can build their own shelters, sleep in hammocks, or stay in canvas tents at remote sites across the campus. Feminine and masculine sleeping shelters are thoughtfully located on opposite ends of camp for privacy and comfort.
