About This Activity
Description
Climbing Level 3
Ages 8 - 14 This is the pinnacle of our afterschool youth climbing programs! Participants focus on climbing knowledge, strength and conditioning, technique development, teamwork and communication skills. Admittance into Level 3 is based on attitude, safety skills, climbing ability and evaluation by either Tia Fields or Jane Hinkson.Minimum qualifications and expectations for program participants: Positive attitude! Interest in learning more about climbing. Can put on own harness. Can tie a figure 8 follow through knot. Can apply risk management techniques.
Transportation is provided from Upper Blue and Breckenridge Elementary. Students not attending Breckenridge schools are encouraged to participate but need to provide their own transportation.
Financial assistance may be available through the Bentley Bedker Scholarship. Applications for the Bedker Scholarship are located at the Front Desk of the Breckenridge Recreation Center. Scholarship money may be applied to the climbing program and potentially personal climbing equipment.
