About This Activity
Description
Edges are the foundation of figure skating. It is essential for skaters to spend time focusing on edgework to improve all aspects of their skating. This class focuses on control, power, and quality of skating gained through the use of skate edges. Both beginner edgework and USFSA Moves In The Field are taught, based on each skater's ability and goals. Skaters must have passed into Basic 4 (or be instructor placed) to participate.
The purpose of this class is to prepare skaters for Moves in the Field tests, improve connecting steps, power, quickness, extension, and control. If you do not consider yourself an intermediate and above skater, we highly recommend taking a concurrent Youth Learn to Skate class (Tuesdays).
Skaters are required to be registered members with Learn to Skate USA. The skating program we are associated with is named Breck Skating School. This is an annual registration that needs renewal in June of every year to participate in our skating programs. See site below to sign up as a Learn to Skate member.
