About This Activity
5 wks Experience Level: All Levels This class explores the transformative power and playful nature of collage. Delving into the past and present, students will be exposed to a collage artist or collage collective each week, while exploring techniques such as playing with scale, layering and revealing images, experimenting with texture, incorporating found objects, text and illustration plus more to help them develop their voices as mixed media artists. Students are encouraged to bring materials from home, collaborate with peers, and work at their own pace to create surreal, editorial, expressive, conceptual, thoughtful and dynamic pieces of art in a supportive and exploratory environment.
