About This Activity
10 wks *No class Nov 11 In the first half of this teen-level course, students will begin with a series of lessons focused on developing foundational drawing skills like shading, judging proportion, using negative space, developing compelling compositions, and strategies for drawing from both life and from reference. In the second half of the course, students will practice applying those skills to their own compositions through creative and generative projects that prompt students to combine their formal drawing skills with their own personal styles and exuberant creativity. Specific projects will be determined by student interest, but may include: pen-and-ink drawing, portraiture, children’s book or mural design, comics illustration, and character design.
