Whimsical Glazing Workshops Bubble Glazing and Shaving Cream Marbling Sunday April 21, 4:30pm - 7:00pm Member Cost: $30 Non-Member Price: $35 Description: Bring your bisque pieces and experiment with fun underglazing techniques! Half of the workshop will introduce bubble glazing, where we blow underglaze colors into bubbles that are then pushed onto bisque ware. Once the bubbles pop or dry out, the outlines of their shapes remain, creating fun patterns. Any shape of bisque ware will work, but light colored clay is preferable (white, B-mix, porcelain, white recycled. Brown or speckled clay would need to be covered with a light color glaze first). The second half of the workshop will be devoted to creating marbling patterns with underglazes on a tray of shaving cream. The patterns are then transferred onto your bisque ware. Cylindrical shapes (vases, mugs, cups, tumblers) work best for this technique. Your bisque ware should be light colored clay only (white, B-mix, porcelain, white recycled). Registrations are non-refundable three weeks before class date.
