The Offseason Senior Robotics Workshops are designed for students in grades 6–12 and take place during the Senior Robotics after-school club hours. These sessions provide an opportunity for students to explore the fundamentals of building FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) robots while also helping to recruit and engage new members interested in robotics. During workshop build days, students will work exclusively with pre-made structural components and parts. The use of power-operated tools or devices is not permitted at this stage. The focus is on introducing core engineering concepts in a safe and accessible way. Participants will be guided through building a simple project—such as a basic driving chassis—and programming it to function. Through this hands-on experience, students will see how their individual efforts come together to create a working system, while developing foundational engineering skills and engaging in problem-solving within a STEM-focused environment.
