From complete beginners to emerging competitors, this program helps BASIS Independent Brooklyn members experience the joy and benefits of learning and practicing chess. The Chess program introduces all core fundamentals while also supporting more advanced members as they prepare for local, city, state, and national competitions. Members are thoughtfully grouped by skill level, interest, and age, allowing coaches to tailor instruction and create individualized training plans for each learner—from first-time players to experienced tournament participants.
