About This Activity
Advanced Drawing & Mixed Media for Older Students Build on strong foundational skills and apply techniques to novel projects. Work from life and visual references to create original, expressive artworks. Explore watercolour and visual journaling to expand creative practice and personal style. Building on strong foundational drawing abilities, students will develop advanced techniques in shading with colour, perspective, and composition. This year, they will work from both visual references and life studies to create original pieces that reflect their individual strengths, interests, and emerging artistic voice. In addition to drawing, students will be introduced to watercolour painting and mixed media journaling, expanding their creative toolkit and encouraging exploration across a range of materials and methods. With a balance of technical instruction and personal expression, each class supports confidence, imagination, and continued artistic growth in a supportive studio environment. **Pre-requisites:** Ideal for students with two or more years of previous art instruction at Aliki’s Art House. If your child has not taken classes at Aliki’s before, we invite you to contact us to schedule a brief consultation. **Additional Information** All art supplies used in class are included. Each student also receives a personal sketchbook to develop their skills and create a cherished portfolio of their artwork. There are no Saturday classes on long weekends. This course includes 32 classes over a 9-month term. Fees are prorated to account for the following scheduled days off.
