Shaping Ideas! Explore hands-on sculpting alongside mixed media art journaling. Build original 3D works using a variety of materials and techniques. A unique class that blends structure, creativity, and self-expression. This one-of-a-kind class introduces students to 3-dimensional sculpting alongside mixed media art journaling. Students will complete 3–4 original sculptures, exploring techniques such as Giacometti-inspired armatures, free-form wire work, and papier-mâché creations. To enhance their projects, students will learn the basics of acrylic painting, colour mixing, and Zentangle-inspired design. A creative journaling and bookbinding component allows students to document their process using mixed media techniques including Gelli printing, collage, handmade stamps, stencils, and decorative lettering. Pre-requisite: Previous drawing experience is helpful but not required. Open to students with an interest in sculpting and creative exploration.
