Columbia Valley Hockey School - Peaking Development Total Skills Camp Ages 4, 5, and 6 Born: 2018, 2019, 2020 Dates: May 4th and 5th Location: Seven Chiefs Sportsplex Cost: $52.50 (Includes GST) Limited to: 25 Skaters Details: Previous experience REQUIRED. This is for athletes who have some previous experience and can skate/stand on their own. Two Ice-times consisting of 75 minutes of on ice instruction and fun. The total skills camp is designed to improve the core skills of hockey which include skating, edgework, stops & starts and backwards skating. Our high quality instructors will explain, demonstrate and provide opportunity for multiple repetitions for players to maximize their individual potential and development. We are excited about the prospect of connecting with parents and their aspiring athletes, offering an introduction not only to the sport of hockey but also to the supportive environment and vibrant culture of development at CVHS. We believe that having two ice sessions is crucial for newcomers. If the first day proves challenging, there will be ample opportunities for learning and the cultivation of valuable traits such as persistence in returning for the second session. Daily Schedule DAY 1 7:00am - 7:30am Arrive for check-in and meet coaches 7:30am - 7:35am We hit the ice and discuss rules and introductions 7:35am - 8:00am Skating focus instruction and Edgework 8:00am - 8:30am introduce pucks for obstacle course and stick-handling 8;30am - 8:45am Games to introduce fun and comradery DAY 2 7:00am - 7:30am Arrive for check-in and meet coaches and new friends in locker-room 7:30am -7:45am Review Skating and introduce Stops/Starts backwards skating 7:45am - 8:30am Break up into 3 stations for focused learning and development 8:30am - 8:45am Finish with a mini-game END: Prize Giveaways and donuts along with coach's feedback.
