In this mini incubator-style course, middle school students will experience the full journey of launching an idea—from identifying a real problem to testing a solution in the real world. Students will explore issues within their school or community, conduct market research, and brainstorm creative solutions. Throughout the course, students learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship in an age-appropriate way: prototyping ideas, basic branding and storytelling, and launching a “test version” of their concept. The course culminates in a friendly pitch day where students present what they built, what they learned, and how they would improve it. Taught by Rachel Farris, a Forbes-awarded CPA and entrepreneur, this course introduces students to business thinking early while emphasizing creativity, communication, and confidence. Rachel’s experience founding and scaling real businesses allows students to see how ideas turn into action in the real world. Students enrolled or considering enrolling in the Upper School Academies Programs (Civic Leadership, Service Learning, or Global Engagement) may want to participate in this camp to further their knowledge in their field of interest. See the link to the Academies page on the PRS website.
