About This Activity
Buy low, sell high! In this beginner-friendly workshop, students will learn how the stock market works and what it means to invest. We’ll go over key terms like stocks, bonds, dividends, and IPOs while exploring how companies grow and why stock prices go up or down. Students will be exposed to the stock market through a simulated stock market game, where they can experience what it’s like to buy, sell, and track their investments. By the end of the week, they’ll have a basic understanding of how the stock market functions and how investing can help grow money over time. Students enrolled or considering enrolling in the Upper School Academies Programs (Civic Leadership, Service Learning, or Global Engagement) may want to participate in this camp to further their knowledge in their field of interest.
