Become a champion of the ocean during this marine science and conservation themed week! With fellow ocean lovers and advocates, tour the abundance of habitats of the Monterey Bay from the sandy shore, to the open ocean, to the intertidal zone. Explore and adventure as you learn how to surf, set out on a whale watching tour over the Monterey Submarine Canyon, and kayak the Elkhorn Slough in search of marine mammals and shorebirds. We’ll delve deep into science as we conduct tidepool-monitoring projects, explore the world of sharks and dissect a local marine species, engaging in conservation conversations and activities along the way. Campers must be able to swim. Activities: Surfing (gear provided), tidepool monitoring, whale watching, boogie boarding, kayaking, shark night hike, dissection, conservation activities Registration includes meals and 4 nights stay at Stevenson School, and a Camp SEA Lab T-shirt
